Engineering Manager, Product (Notifications)

About the role

Duolingo is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its Notifications team in the Growth area, the group responsible for how learners are engaged outside the app. The role is based in New York City.

What you’ll do

• Co-lead a cross-functional team alongside a product manager, setting strategy and success metrics
• Drive projects from planning to launch while keeping infrastructure reliable
• Use A/B testing and data to guide product decisions
• Hire, grow and support engineers with clear career paths
• Set team OKRs, prioritize work and manage technical debt

What they’re looking for

• Experience managing and hiring software engineering teams
• A track record of shipping multi-engineer projects with measurable impact
• Strong product sense in data-driven, experiment-heavy environments
• Excellent communication with cross-functional partners
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

Pay

$182,800 – $247,300 base salary per year, plus equity.
